I am unsure what you tested positive for, but it is true that even false positives for infectious dieases are impossible to overcome, according the FDA regulation.

The only way you would be eligible to donate blood or tissue is through a known donation, that is, you donated to a relative or friend. You would not be eligble for any anonymous program.

I have a question. I was involved in becoming an egg donor, I was about two weeks away from egg retrieval and then it happened..the dreaded FALSE POSITIVE. I was tested three times and the 1st two times I was negative but the third time I was positive and everyone knew it was false but because it was a fully private operation, they said we could no longer proceed. This happened in November 2011 but I read that I could still donate at other facilities as long as there was an option for an open case which is fine with me. They never told me anything or what my options were, would you be able to tell me if I could still donate ?
